I’ve decided on a summer format for these posts: a 3 minute read because I know most people are busy enjoying summer weather, bites of whatever I have ingested over the week (not limited to food), recommendations regarding what I have read, watched, or found inspiring, and fashion.
I love your summer writing plan! The Nordic poling is great, and I bet you can get out there and walk a short distance very early in the morning. A bobcat, wow! I'm thankful I don't have to worry about encountering one of those with Tjikko -- other dogs are challenging enough. I'm making mostly salads, too, improvised with whatever is on hand. No CSA for us this year; it's a good deal of work, the weekly load of produce, too much for the Year of the Puppy. I do shop two local farmers' markets. Exercise clothing: my most-worn pair of tights is from PACT. I have a similar pair from Maggie's Organics, but their cotton wears thin fairly quickly. Another excellent pair is from Patagonia, made from recycled fishing nets. I like them especially for summer because they are lighter weight. My insect problems outdoors are mostly mosquitos and gnats, and I spray myself generously with Badger Anti-Bug. Reading ... hmm ... I'm working toward it!
Hi, dear Friend. Thank you for your update and recommendation about exercise clothing! Another bear in the yard sighting and photos by my neighbor a couple of days ago but I’m thinking it’s because she brought out her seed feeder again and tho took it in for the overnight, the bear smelled/saw seeds. Everything in life has it’s flip side including old Mother Nature.
Stay cool…98 degrees here this afternoon and tomorrow. I’m sure you’re no better.
I like these summer posts. It is hot everywhere and finding clothes that keeps us cool is important. I always appreciate any knowledge I can gain. As a retiree I love bargains and, like shopping consignment, and Goodwill. I also like Target.
Hi, Linda! I'm with you in wanting to bargain hunt. My local thrift shop which benefits cancer patient activities has been the recipient of some great things which I've found over the years, some even with tags. I found a great pair of Old Navy Powersoft leggings(new) and bought them. Then I went onto ebay and looked for more which cost more but less than Old Navy retail so now I'm set when I go to PT and Nordic poling.
Today is the second day of the extreme heat and humidity so I'm in until Thursday afternoon when it'll be time to meet my oldest friend for a light lunch out.
