Frances, you've given us a fascinating overview of the autumn equinox traditions and celebrations in many parts of the world. Here in the Mid-Atlantic, it's quite warm and humid and we'll probably have rain tomorrow, so it's hard for me to think of autumn. Your essay helps -- thanks! -- and that's a beautiful poem you chose.
A most beautiful meditation on my favorite festival in the turning year. Falling red, ochre and golden leaves, pumpkins and squashes, a wreath on the door and chrysenthemums on the threshold... They warm the heart and convey gladness and gratitude. Thank you so much for sharing these autumn traditions with us, Frances.
A friend will join Beau and I for a harvest meal tomorrow, and the whole menu will be crafted with autumn fruit and vegetables. There will be a ritual afterward, and small gifts will be exchanged, How can one not be uplifted by such September abundance?
Thank you for gathering and sharing so many of the beautiful autumn rituals. I am gathering a group of nine women and one man to spend a few hours on the afternoon of the equinox making soul collage cards. It is a ritual I enjoy offering. The images that come through are such sweet and strong communicators, of parts of us that are wanting communion as we go into this autumn harvest season until solstice – –
I asked the group to contemplate, “what needs more balance in your life, To be able to feel the joy of letting go of summer into this new time! I hope you’re well Frances I love your posts!
Thank you for your lovely comment. dear Judith. I do enjoy learning a thing or two when writing posts. Your soul collage group tomorrow sounds wonderful. I’d love to be there for that event.
Thank you for sharing and to celebrate today, Sunday, September 22, I sat outside with my morning coffee and reading enjoying a 71° temperature. Have a good day. Marching on to a new season-one which I enjoy!

Happy Autumn/Fall, Linda. It's moody looking and in the 50's here which is just fine with me. Have a lovely day and a very good week.
